Comprehensive maintenance work on locomotives, with a focus on V-traction, on freight wagons and various special vehicles are part of the core business for the specialist workshop for railway vehicles. The modern workshop maintains both the railway vehicles of the Lappwaldbahn Group companies and vehicles from other railway transport companies and vehicle owners. The specialist workshop is a VPI member and works according to the VPI maintenance guidelines, which are published and continuously updated by VPI, as well as according to the stipulations of the manufacturer or owner (ECM). The railway workshop was audited by various owners and certified by TÜV according to ISO 9001. Mr David Ringleb has been commissioned as director of the specialist workshop since October 2015.
